More party preparations...

One more thing I can mark off my TO DO LIST.
Tonight I finished the party favors. Actually this project took more time than I had expected. I had to make the bows for each bag along with create the labels and print them out and attach them. Then I had to stuff each bag according to girl or boy and then sort by age. Ally Harper seems to be having a great time with all the party preparations, but mommy thinks planning a fantastic birthday is very time consuming. Thank goodness this is my passion. Also each bag is labelled on the bag of who it belongs to. Now let hope we have a big turn out.

Newest Birthday cast member

I just finished Ernie a few minutes ago. I still need to attach the rubber ducky, but that can wait til tomorrow. He will be used to hold the drinks for the party.

New Nursery Bedding

Finally!! I was able to decide on nursery bedding for Ally Harper and Baby Christopher. Since they will be sharing a room, I was faced with the difficult task of finding something that could be for both girl and boy. So I think I have finally found something. Some of these had to be ordered while others mom had in her store (Ward's Linen Outlet, Summit, MS). So here is the plan. The Choo Choo fabric will be for
Christopher's comforter while the lime tulips will be Ally's comforter. The dust ruffles will be made from the stripes, obivously pink is AH's and blue for C. The Turquoise butterflies with dots will be a coordinating piece for AH's stuff and the other Turq. piece is just like the butterflies except without the butterflies. It still has the same dots, that will be for C's coordinating piece. Then the bumper pad will be the choo-choo and turq minky dots and the plaid will be the curtains. I think I have covered it all. Mom ordered the pieces she didn't have yesterday so hopefully we can get this show on the road soon. I still need to get the room painted, it will be a light shade of lime green, and find some wall decor and a rug, but that will come soon enough. (Also, I know some of the colors look kind of off, but that's just in the photos.)

Brooklyn's New Room Decor

Brooklyn's room is also getting a makeover. We will be painting her room a pretty turqouise color similar to Carrie's remodeled apartment on the Sex and the City movie. Then we found her bedding at Anthropologie along with the rug. Then Granny is going to use the turquoise fan fabric to make a dust ruffle and Euro shams for us. Brooklyn can't wait for this to be complete. When she was home this past weekend, we went to Lowe's and chose a wall color and we had to get a sample can so we could home and paint some on the wall. So now, behind her door the existing pink wall is now blue. Guess they make those little cans to make you commit to actually having to finish the room!!! It is going to be so pretty when we are done. I can't wait!

Update on birthday preparations

Okay, I am seriously obsessed! As I posted last week, I have been working on Ally Harper's birthday party. Well since then I have been brainstorming on how to improve on my cute little character buckets. See what you think! Bert will be serving his favorite oatmeal cookies. Abby Cadabby now has Pixie Stix magic wands in her bucket. Rosita will be serving chips and salsa from her sombero and margarita glass. Count will be holding crackers and the plate will be used with cream cheese and pepper jelly. Oscar now has his lid and pet worm Slimey. Big Bird is now cozy in his nest where he will now be serving Teddy Graham crackers since his favorite toy is Radar the Teddy Bear. Zoe has on her ballerina skirt and will hold something probably mints???? Also worked on Elmo a little, and still need to finish Grover and Cookie Monster and Ernie!!! How much fun am I having??? I love this stuff. I asked Chris' advice this morning on one of them and his suggestion was to do whatever was easiest and took the least amount of time. I told him that I missed Brooklyn when she is away. She is my helper on things like this. She definitely has a good eye and I value her opinion. Can't wait for her to get back home on July 8th. Love you B!!!

Happy Father's Day

Ally Harper and Chris playing in the pool at my brother's house. This was Ally's first time to really go swimming. She had a great time. She swallowed plenty of water, hopefully she will get the gist of keeping her mouth closed instead of smiling the whole time.

Playing pretend.

Our little girl is learning to pretend and play baby dolls. How sweet is that? But please don't get me wrong, she still isn't gentle with the babies. We really need to work on that before baby Christopher gets here. Also last week, I was cleaning out all of Ally's old clothes, making room for new stuff and I came across a little hat that she wore while in the hospital. Well Ally wanted to wear it but it was in no way going to stretch enough to fit on her head now, so I found the one she is wearing in the pic. How funny? Not sure if she looks more like Little Miss Muffet or Laura Ingles from Little House on the Prarie????

Playing in the water again!

Since letting Ally Harper play at Renaissance last week, she now thinks that it we shopping there that she must get to play in the water. Well this time I had a swimsuit in her bag just in case. She had so much fun. Brooklyn was with us too, but I wasn't prepared for her to get soaked. She played some but didn't totally wet. At one point, Ally wandered out of the wet area and got on the hot concrete! Let just say she has some quick little feet, the only problem was that they were moving in place instead of forward. I had to run and rescue her. That concrete was HOT!!!

Preparing for a birthday!

Welcome to Sesame Street!!! In a little more than a month, we will be celebrating Ally Harper's 2nd birthday. And as you may know, we are obsessed with parties around our house. So we have been planning this one for quite a while. I have been working on things gradually and have just recently finished one of my projects. I was able to find colored bowls and buckets that I painted faces on that we will be using to serve snacks from. For example, Cookies served in Cookie Monster, Chex Mix Trash served from Oscar, Goldfish crackers served from Elmo and so on. As of this morning, I only have two more to complete. I thought I would show off my handy work. I love Abby Cadabby, she may be my favorite, but Big Bird was the most difficult. The Whole Cast

Cookie Monster

Big Bird

Tea anyone?

Today, while I was doing some things around the house, I noticed Ally in the den playing with her pretend food. She was having a tea party. We watched an episode of Barney the other day and they were having a tea party. So I guess she was paying attention. After a while, it was time to run to town and she wouldn't leave! She kept pointing to the floor for me to sit for some tea. I couldn't help but grab the camera :)

Cousin Chloe's birthday

We went to cousin Chloe's birthday Saturday at Kid's Town in Clinton. They really have a great playground. Ally Harper had a great time swinging and sliding with her daddy.
Happy 3rd birthday Chloe!

It's official!! It's really a BOY!

We went for the official sonogram today and Pam was definitely able to determine the sex and he is all boy! So now I can truly gets things rolling. Things to buy and walls to paint. Everything looked good by the sono and he actually measured larger than average. He is in the 90th percentile. Can you believe after 2 other babies that were both preemies and both weighing in under 6 pounds that I am carrying a BIG BABY BOY! Things can change, but you will not be hearing any complaints from my end about having a bigger baby. Little babies = lots of worrying!!
Hope you enjoy the pics.

I guess he was getting bored or it was nap time because he kept yawning.

(above: He's giving us a Thumbs Up, can you see it?)

Summer Fun

While out shopping at Renaissance I decided to let Ally have a little fun in the water before we headed home. She had a BLAST!!!
