And the day continues....

After the parade, we went to Pump it Up to celebrate with Carter and Loxley Boyles for their birthday. They actually live in Nashville, but all their family is from Mississippi, and they have been visiting all week and made plans for the party while they were here. It was great to get to see them and catch up with Doug and Amy!

Brooklyn and Ally had a great time playing in all the inflatables.

Ally wore herself out playing in this one. She didn't want to get out.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

We got up early Saturday morning and took the kids to the St. Patty's Pet and Kid's Parade.

Brooklyn entered Oxford in the pet parade and he pranced down the street with the rest of the animals. There were even ponies in it this year!

I couldn't resist taking a couple of pictures of Ally playing in the grass with the clovers!

Then for the kid's parade, Brooklyn and our cousin Hayden, pulled Ally in a wagon. I had hoped that Ally would wave and blow kisses, but after Inky the clown gave her a magic wand, that was all that she wanted to play with.

The weather was fantastic and I think we all had a great time except for Oxford. I think he would have rathered stayed home.

Mississippi Natural Science Museum

We visited the Natural Science Museum and I can't tell you which part was Ally's favorite. She really loved the fish and turtles.
She looks about as scared of the frog as I am afraid of frogs!

She LOVES birds, but wasn't quite sure what to do with the binoculars. But she sure loved looking at all the birds, ducks and owls they had on display. She flaps her arms when she sees a bird, and then "quacks" like a duck and can "hoot" like an owl.

Mississippi My Home

Brooklyn had their 4th grade program and it was titled Mississippi My Home. Some students were featured as famous Mississippians and other sang in the chior. In the picture is Jessica, Anna Cole (aka Faith Hill), Koyuki, Noel, Brooklyn (aka Mississippi Jazz Dancer), and Savannah (an Indian Maiden). There were others such as Oprah, John Grisham, Brett Favre, Elvis, etc. They all did such a great job.
This is Brooklyn's friend, Koyuki. She is moving back to Japan this week, so Brooklyn is really going to miss her.

Tutu cute!

I saw a cute tutu at the Spring Market last week, so I decided to make my own, Ally Harper loved dancing in it tonight.

Do your ears hangs low"

Do they wobble to and fro?

Can you tie them in a knot? Can you tie them in a bow?
Can you throw them over you shoulder like a continental soldier, do your ears hang low?

It's POTTY time!

Starting last week, we decided that it's about potty training time, so I started putting Ally Harper on the big potty a couple of times a day to introduce her to the whole thing. She has done both "tee tee" and "poo poo" in the big potty. So, yesterday I went ahead a bought her a potty chair and some "Big Girl Panties" aka Pull-Ups. As of last night, she did "tee tee" in it, and then tonight she did both! So far, so good!

Confessions of an OCD Nursery decorator....Part 2

Bedding choices here I come!

Confessions of an OCD Nursery decorator....Part 1

In case you were not aware, when I was pregnant with Ally Harper I created a website that outlined my entire nursery plan right down to every detail. From wall color to wall art to fabric samples. Needless to say, this was mostly done on TMK time (shhh). My reasoning behind it was to keep those interested informed. So it was sort of like my blogging now except I didn't journal. Back to the past, it took us quite a while to find furniture that we liked and when we finally did, we got several pieces of it and have never been disapponited by it. Okay now back to the present, since baby #3 will have to share a room with Ally Harper for the time being it was important to me that we match the furniture. And that meant getting another crib just like Ally's. I really love her bed because it is a Bonavita Heritage collection lifestyle bed meaning not only is it a crib, but it also converts into a toddler bed, then a daybed, then a full size bed, so this bed will be in the family for a while. So why wouldn't I want another one?? But I was in for a rude awakening. Upon shopping for another bed, I soon discovered that the furniture collection had been discontinued in white and was told that it would be almost impossible to find the crib :( But anyone who knows me knows I will do WHATEVER I can to complete what I have my mind set on, so that is when the search really began. I first called Expectations because that is where I bought AH's and that's when I found out the bad news. Next I googled and found a bed, but it was in Kansas City and they will not ship. So then I went to the Bonavita website and did a search with the store locator and was given the closest 5 stores to Jackson and then I called each one with no luck. Next, I changed zip codes many times from TX, to FL, to LA, to everywhere and finally had a list composed of about 40 Bonavita distributors and called each one of them still with no luck and just about when I was going to give up I found one!! And it is in Shreveport, Louisiana. Hallelujah!!! But wait, this was to good to be true, wasn't it? Of course, when I am involved nothing is easy so why should this be? And yes, there was one small problem. The bed was defected. One of the pedestal legs would not screw on like it should, therefore I would not be able to use any of the legs. Believe it or not I was okay with this. I would rather have the same bed without the feet than a totally different bed with pedestal feet. Plus, maybe Ally could have the new one since it would be closer to the floor for her to climb in and out of. But when I told Chris, he didn't agree. He didn't want a defected bed. So I called the lady with the bed and asked her to send photos so I oculd see if my brother could fix the problem. This was last week, and I still had not gotten the pics as of today. But this morning, I did get a call from the lady and she apoligized for not sending pics yet, but she had been sick, yada yada yada, but then she said that when she went to take the photos this morning she stumbled upon something-- A BRAND NEW CRIB STILL IN THE BOX!!! Can you believe it? See persistency pays off!!!! So guess what!!! Baby Neyland is the new owner of a crib. I am so excited. Things are working out just great. So far so good. And why should these things be easy? Would we appreciate things if they were just laid at our feet?

Our First Rebel Baseball Game of 2009

We drove up to Oxford today to see the Rebels play Vermont. We won 15-3 or something like that :) Ally didn't take a nap on the way up, but she did really well during the game. She loved all the music and would even clap without being told to. One time she even had to arms above her head when Jordan Henry made a great play and everyone was cheering. It was so funny! And when she wasn't cheering, she was playing with her baby and bottle. After the baseball game we were suppose to meet our friend, Cory & his son, John Pitner, at the State vs. Ole Miss basketball game, but while waiting on then to arrive, ahe fell asleep in the truck, so Chris decided to drive on home. So we listened to the bball game on the radio instead. Perfect timing, the game ended as we were pulling into our neighborhood. We lost by only 2 points, which we hated, but were actually glad we didn't stay after that kind of ending. Can't wait til spring break when we can make the trip again.

From Race car driver to Pit crew....

Ally Harper is going to be a jack of all trades....
